Hybrid Self-Storage Project Opening in Austin

It’s not a self-storage space, or an industrial space, or an office, but it has elements of all three. XSpace will be joining the list of companies putting a new spin on the old, drab self storage rental units. They’re calling their units condominiums and XSpace is just opening their complex outside of Lakeway at 4229 N. FM 620, Austin. The facility is owned by an Australian group. The owners broke ground on the complex in 2020. Unlike a traditional storage facility, tenants can buy or lease their space, as opposed to just renting it for a short period. And. the space can be modified to fit a number of uses.

Mary Swanhaus, who handles sales and leasing for XSpace, said the storage units can have different purposes, such as conducting business or having a satellite office. “We have people who use the units for photo studios, high-end car storage, motorcycle storage, golf course simulators and various office space,” she said. “Basically, it’s your space to do whatever you want with it.” There is also a lounge for business owners in the facility.
