Hutto to Williamson County: We Need $16M

The city of Hutto, TX has asked Williamson County to help finance $15.5 million in infrastructure improvements for the city’s 25-acre, $100-million Co-Op District Development. City officials are interested in financing drainage system infrastructure improvements through a Tax Increment Reinvestment zone for the under-construction mixed-use development north of US 79.

The Hutto proposal requested the county to contribute half of the incremental tax increase it would receive over the 20-year term of the project. The county was also asked to sell an existing building at the development to the city, in exchange for an appraised value price during a 24-month option period. County commissioners scheduled a public hearing for the TIRZ on Dec. 19, 2017.
