Hutto gives OK to 330-unit BTR community

Hutto to Be Home to 330-Unit BTR Rental Community

Homebuilder Taylor Morrison has been given tentative approval to move ahead on a 330-unit rental community in Hutto. The residential community, called CTC at Emory Crossing will feature a mix of housing options with 80% detached homes and 20% attached homes.

The 56.3-acre development will be located at the southeast corner of Ed Schmidt Boulevard and Emory Crossing. At a recent town hall meeting, the town voted to annex the property and to establish a planned unit development (PUD). The PUD includes a provision requiring that CTC at Emory Crossing to include 20.9 acres of public parkland.

Hutto’s Ashley Bailey said the development will act as a missing link in the city’s trail system and add a housing type that is underrepresented in Hutto. “The proposal shows [CTC at Emory Crossing] as a transitional area between the single-family development and the roadway, and it’s also providing that trail extension,” Bailey said.
