Hunters View Getting Market-Rate Housing
Developer Build Inc. will pay the City of San Francisco $10 million for 2.5 acres in Hunters View, where it plans to build market-rate housing. Part of the goal from a civic perspective is to replace the public housing in the area, which is considered some of the worst in the nation.
Build Inc. plans from 140 to 200 units on the site. There is hope that market-rate housing mixed with lower-income residences will make the area more attractive and vibrant.
The new development will consist of three building that range from 40 to 65 feet in height. Architecture firm Mithun Solomon is also on the project.
