Hunt Capital Adds Peak 8’s Asset Management Platform

Hunt Capital Holdings has acquired Peak 8 Asset Management of Greenwich, CT for an undisclosed sum. Peak 8’s team, including president David Moran, will remain employed by the firm.

Peak 8 focuses on alternative fixed income investments, providing investment advisory services to institutional clients. It had approximately $600 million in assets under management as of Dec. 31.

“This acquisition was good for Hunt, as we and Peak 8 have similar investment styles and approaches to risk,” said Chris Hunt, CEO of Hunt Capital Holdings. “This transaction further advances our long-term strategy of growing our fixed income and related businesses, particularly in the insurance space, a sector in which the Peak 8 professionals have deep experience.”

At Peak 8, Moran said, “We think that Peak 8 will complement Hunt’s existing asset management platform, and that together we will utilize our shared resources and investment styles to grow both of our businesses.”
