A major mixed-use development is on tap for the East Village neighborhood, at Seventh Avenue and Market Street, that would bring a Ritz Carlton hotel to the area.

Cisterra Development is proposing a 160-room Ritz, 205 residential units and 46,000 square feet of retail that would include a high-end grocer. The entire development is slated to be 751,500 square feet. The residential would include condos, market-rate apartments and affordable-housing rental units.

San Diego-based Cisterra built the DiamondView Tower downtown.

The proposal needs to be approved by Civic San Diego, which will have one of its agencies review it mid next month.
