Hudson Group Will Operate FAO Schwarz Stores at Airports

Travel retail chain Hudson Group has signed an exclusive agreement with FAO Schwarz to operate FAO Schwarz- and FAO Schweetz-branded toy and candy shops in airports across the U.S.

East Rutherford, NJ-based Hudson, with nearly 1,000 locations across North America, expects the first store openings by the end of next year.

Hudson Group and FAO Schwarz will work closely on new store openings and brand extensions across the U.S., building on the renowned toy brand’s founding principles. The last FAO Schwarz-operated store closed in 2015, but the brand—now owned by ThreeSixty Group—plans to open a new flagship at Rockefeller Plaza in time for the 2018 holiday season.

“FAO has provided a magical experience for children for over 150 years, and we are proud to keep this tradition alive by crafting transformative retail experiences in new environments,” said David Niggli, chief merchandising officer for FAO Schwarz.
