HPE Will Swap San Jose Headquarters for Houston

Hewlett Packard Enterprise said Tuesday it would relocate its headquarters from San Jose to a new campus under construction in Spring, TX, just outside Houston. In a blog posting, CEO Antonio Neri cited “our business needs, opportunities for cost savings, and team members’ preferences about the future of work” as drivers of the relocation.

Houston has long been HPE’s largest U.S. employment hub, Neri pointed out. “Houston is also an attractive market for us to recruit and retain talent, and a great place to do business,” he wrote.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said, “Hewlett Packard Enterprise joins more than 50 Fortune 500 companies headquartered in the Lone Star State, including 22 in the Houston area alone.”

Neri said HPE executives and non-technical team members would have the option of relocating to Houston. However, HPE will maintain a San Jose presence, including the new headquarters for its Aruba Intelligent Edge business.
