So, we all know that tech companies are making huge waves in the office-leasing arena of commercial real estate, especially in the Bay Area. But tech is transforming our industry in other ways as well.

A recent report published by CBRE says that it happens through three main avenues.

Radical Mobility: This is the phenomena of people being able to work wherever they want from any time, via ubiquitous wifi connections. The fact that people can work anywhere is going to transform office spaces.

Collaborative Economy: More consumers and companies are finding different ways of doing business since the Great Recession. Just as people are using their vehicles as an income source through Uber, firms are hiring more contractors, changing office space into a more collaborative environment.

Transportation Revolution: We might have less cars on the road. Services like Uber and multi-modal transit centers give people less of a reason to need a vehicle in major metro areas. This could change where and how offices are set up.
