Houston’s River Oaks District to Get Makeover

The Festival Companies is ready to go with a long planned renovation. The 14-acre River Oaks District in Houston contains over 250,000 square feet of national brands, boutiques, restaurants, arts and entertainment.

The biggest change will involve the addition of new pocket parks and gathering areas. Festival Companies is expected to begin by transforming the central plaza into a gathering place for events and activities. The new park will stretch from Westcreek Lane on the western side of the District, to its eastern boundary. Construction will begin this month and is expected to wrap up this fall. Besides the new park, visitors can expect updated landscaping, signage, furnishings and new brands.

Three new restaurants will make their debut: Bari’s will offer up Italian fare, Little Hen breakfast and lunch and Ojo de Agua, a Mexico City-based coffee, juice and dining concept.

The 14-acre District sits on Westheimer Road inside Loop 610.
