Houston’s 4,300 Acre Generation Park Set to Get Busy
McCord Development has announced the start of work on Generation Park, a 4,300-acre mixed-use development in northeast Houston. The project will first focus on biotechnology, with the first phase including a 65,000-square foot cell and gene microtherapy facility that will be leased in part by San Jacinto College. Groundbreaking is slated for later this year, with a scheduled delivery date of late 2024.
This phase will also include a 45-acre master-planned project called BioHub Two that is still under design.
Other projects include a 300,000 square foot retail expansion, 250-unit multifamily project, and new hotel at Redemption Square, Generation Park’s 80-acre mixed-use district.
Additionally, the company is developing a 100,000 square foot speculative flex-industrial project and an 8,600 square foot events venue and adjacent bar.
McCord recently brought in Greg Wattson to run the project. He successfully ran similarly sized projects in Atlanta and two in California.
