Rockets to spend $70M on new practice facility.

Houston Rockets Building New $70M Practice Facility

At a recent press event, Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta revealed that the organization plans to build a $70 million practice facility in the Galleria area. He said he hopes the facility will be ready in time for the 2024-25 season. Fertitta added that he thinks the new facility will be a great tool to recruit players.

The Rockets have trained in a single-court training facility at the Toyota Center downtown since the venue opened in 2003. The Houston Business Journal reports that the practice court pales in comparison to the tens of millions of dollars other franchises have shelled out in recent years to develop state-of-the-art training facilities. A new training facility has been a goal for Fertitta since he first bought the Rockets back in 2017. Fertitta has been scouting potential locations for a new facility dating back at least six years.
