Houston Methodist The Woodlands Announces $240M Expansion

Executives with Houston Methodist The Woodlands announced a $240 million expansion of its hospital. The phase-two undertaking will add a patient care tower, as well as expanding the system’s emergency, endoscopy and heart centers. Also on tap are an additional 100 beds to the medical, surgical and women’s areas, and 10 new operating rooms.

The 470,000-square-foot hospital, located at 17201 Interstate 45 in the Houston metro’s far north suburb of The Woodlands, opened in June 2017. The facility currently offers 187 beds and, at the time of its opening, was master-planned for 400 beds.

Hospital CEO Debra Sukin indicated that a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place in late September, with the build-out process likely to take 18 months-24 months. She told Community Impact that the project could also add 350 employees to the hospital.
