Houston is a Critical Market for Liskow & Lewis Amid Lease Renewal

Liskow & Lewis, an energy law firm headquartered in New Orleans, signed an extension of its office lease at 1001 Fannin, a 49-story class-A office tower in downtown Houston, according to CBRE. The law firm is renovating the space with a focus on technology and conference facility upgrades to provide best-in-class tools for its attorneys to serve clients.

“Updating our office in Houston will help us continue to attract and retain top talent and clients, with a modern tech-enabled workplace in the heart of Houston’s central business district,” said Michael Golemi, the head of the firm’s Houston office. “Houston is a critical market for our firm as we continue shaping legal practice for the energy industry and Gulf Coast business community.”

1001 Fannin is a 1.3 million square-foot class-A office building built in 1981 by JMB Properties Co. of Chicago.

CBRE’s Kevin Kushner and William Padon represented the tenant in the transaction. Cushman & Wakefield’s Chip Colvill, Brad Beasley and Cameron Colvill represented the landlord, JMB Realty.

“This transaction demonstrates Liskow & Lewis’ long-term commitment to the Houston marketplace, where the firm is well-established with many clients,” said Kushner. “The renovations the firm plans to make in its premises will provide a cutting-edge environment for employees and clients using the space. This is a great result for the firm and its future in Houston is bright.” Liskow & Lewis has served clients in the energy, oil and gas industry since its founding in 1935 in Lake Charles, LA. Today, the firm has grown to more than 140 lawyers serving clients across the Gulf Coast with four offices in Texas and Louisiana.
