Houston Hospital System Expanding to Austin
Texas Children’s Hospital, which has its flagship hospital in Houston’s Texas Medical Center, announced expansion plans to the Austin area. An urgent-care clinic is anticipated to open in south Austin in spring 2018.
Overall, the medical care system plans to open four pediatric urgent-care clinics, three pediatric specialty-care clinics and 18 pediatric primary care practices by 2022. Also on tap are two maternal-fetal medicine practices.
“We are constantly evaluating new opportunities, and working to advance our mission to provide all children and women with the specialized care Texas Children’s delivers,” said Mark A. Wallace, president and CEO of Texas Children’s Hospital. “We see this as an extension of our mission, to expand care and access to even more children and women in Texas.
