Houston Company Building Austin Self-Storage Facilities
The Jenkins Organization of Houston is building eight Austin self-storage facilities. The developer is spending $125 million to build the facilities, and to expand two additional ones, also located in Austin.
Combined, the facilities will total 1.2 million square feet. Ricky Jenkins with Jenkins Organization said the company worked hard to find sites with high barriers to entry and strong demographics.
Two of the facilities, ATX Storage, 6901 N. Interstate 35, and Lakeline Storage, 1100 Lakeline Blvd., are complete and open.
The following are under construction:
• Bee Cave Storage, 15106 W. SH 71, Bee Cave
• Manchaca Storage, 9507 Manchaca Rd.
• Oak Hill Storage, 7919 W. SH 71, Oak Hill
• Bergstrom Storage, 600 S. US 183
• Northgate Storage, 8875 Research Blvd.
• Darden Hill Storage, FM 1826 and Darden Hill Road, Driftwood
The two facilities under expansion are:
• West Highway 29 Storage, 7560 W. SH 29, Georgetown
• Leander Storage, 11520 Hero Way West, Leander
