Bob McDonald has joined Chicago-based Murphy Asset Management as Managing Director. McDonald brings 30 years of hospitality management expertise and was previously VP of Operations for several third-party management companies, including Marshall / TPG Hotels, Resorts & Marinas and privately-owned management groups.
He has a deep knowledge of hotels such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt and operational experience with resorts and independent boutique hotels. McDonald has experience with asset prospecting, new build development, hospitality adaptive reuse and tax credit transitions.
He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors for Pamplin Business School’s Hospitality and Tourism program at Virginia Tech and is a member of Hilton’s Circle of Leadership.
“Bob’s expertise in resorts and food & beverage will allow Murphy Asset Management to further expand its footprint in these areas and provide enhanced services to our existing roster of clients,” said Murphy Asset Management’s President Steve Steinberg.
