Hotel Construction Underway in Memorial City

Devan Lodging Group LLC has launched construction on a 120-key Hilton Homewood Suites at 9450 Katy Freeway, in the Memorial City area. The hotel should deliver in late 2017 or early 2018, about the time that the oil and gas sector should begin growing, according to Rahul Desai, a partner with the development company.

Desai told the Houston Business Journal that his company is attempting to capitalize on Memorial City’s infrastructure. Memorial City, owned and developed by MetroNational, is a 265-acre, mixed-use project containing 8.3-million square feet of developed real estate.

Devan Lodging isn’t the only developer that likes Memorial City. MetroNational is developing an office near Interstate 10. Meanwhile, construction is also underway on a Hotel ZaZa, just down the street from the Homewood Suites site, at 9787 Katy Freeway.
