Hotel Agreement Secured for Multi-Purpose Event Center

Gatehouse Capital Corp. secured a franchise agreement with Marriott International for a Delta by Marriott Hotel at the Multi-Purpose Events Center, located in Wichita Falls, TX. Gatehouse, which will develop the 150-key hotel, is still negotiating the financial terms.

The original hotel for the MPEC at 1000 5th St. was to have been a Doubletree by Hilton. However, Gatehouse and the city opted for the Delta brand, which Marriott is positioning as a competitor to Doubletree hotels. The new full-service upscale hotel is one the city of Wichita Falls hopes will attract larger and better conventions.

Marriott indicated that the Delta model is considered an efficient cost model for owners. The efficiency could save Gatehouse and Wichita Falls up to $1 million.
