Excel Group, a real estate private equity firm, has announced the appointment of Matt Wexler as principal, who will lead the firm’s new structured capital strategy. This strategy will focus on providing tailored and flexible capital solutions, such as mezzanine debt and preferred equity, for hotel assets to partners and borrowers.  

Wexler brings over two decades of commercial real estate, development, and hospitality investment experience, having previously founded Cascadilla Partners, a sponsor and consultancy specializing in hotel assets and non-performing/sub-performing loans. Prior to that, he served as managing partner at Foxhall Partners and worked as a vice president at CIM Group.
