Hope Springs Up Via Pioneering L.A. Modular Housing Project

A pioneering modular development with the potential to transform housing for the chronically homeless has been unveiled in Los Angeles’ Westlake neighborhood. Hope on Alvarado, an 84-unit project at 166 S. Alvarado St., is the creation of HBG Construction Corp, KTGY Architecture + Planning, and Aedis Real Estate Group.

Aedis Real Estate Group’s Scott Baldridge says, “This is not just a one-off project. It’s a series of places created with a highly replicable design that delivers housing at a speed and scale required by neighborhoods in need.”

The project, with wrap-around supportive services for homeless individuals, is the first of a series of superior-quality Hope On developments in Los Angeles using an advanced, new modular design and measure HHH funding.

Hope on Alvarado is expected to open in early 2020. Two additional developments using the same technology are Hope on Broadway (52nd and South Broadway in South L.A.) and Hope on Hyde Park (6501 Crenshaw Blvd.).
