Honolulu Mandarin Oriental Tower Breaks Ground
Project developer Mana’olana Partners, founded by Los Angeles-based Salem Partners, has broken ground for construction of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Residences, Honolulu, located on the corner of Kapiolani Boulevard and Atkinson Dr. The 743,000-square-foot, 36-story tower will rise adjacent to the Hawaii Convention Center at the gateway to Waikiki and Ala Moana.
The project calls for 125 guest rooms below 99 for-sale luxury condominium residences occupying the tower’s top 17 floors. It is expected to deliver in late 2023. When complete, the tower will be the first new project within the Ala Moana Transit-Oriented District.
The project’s general contractor is Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co., with architecture from Hawaii’s AHL and Colorado-based (au) workshop. The Residences design team includes Dianna Wong, Meyer Davis, Hart Howerton and Molteni&C Dada.
