Homestead Okays $275M Sports Park
A group of prominent South Florida investors has won approval from the city of Homestead for the Sports Performance Hub, a $275 million sports and recreation complex on 130 acres at Homestead Regional Park. The project will be built at no taxpayer cost. It will include a 10,000-seat stadium; a 100- to 150-room hotel; and a sports academy with classrooms, dorms and a gym.
The ownership group is led by soccer star Dario Sala, former NBA player Manu Ginobili, and Miami FC owner Riccardo Silva.
The stadium will host professional sporting events, including Miami FC games, and serve as the new home of the Homestead Championship Rodeo.
The project’s development is set to begin in 2026. In the same year, the city will receive lease payments starting at $265,000, $3 per event ticket, and $5 per hotel night.
The ownership group will also fund renovations, including 12 tennis courts, 18 pickleball courts, athletic fields, basketball and volleyball courts, a playground and upgraded baseball fields.
