Home Rental Leasing Picks Up in Abilene

Leasing among home rental properties increased in April 2018, according to data released by the North Texas Real Estate Information Systems Inc. and the Abilene Reporter News. The annual data pointed out that it took less than 50 days for space in a rental home to turn over.

NTREIS noted that 83 single-family homes were leased in April 2018, representing two units above the annual average, and 12 units higher than the year before.

Asking rates were $0.79 per square foot in April, which was a slight improvement when compared to the first part of 2018, though was flat on a year-over-year basis. The improved pace of rentals did give landlords confidence to boost security deposits.
