Holland Launches Development on Vancouver Center

Vancouver, WA-based Holland Partner Group held a ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the start of construction on the long-awaited and final component of Vancouver Center. The project includes 118 units of apartments and 2,200 square feet of restaurant/retail space, and is the first major mixed-use project developed in downtown Vancouver.

The site at 6th and Washington streets sits above a city-owned parking garage, and is the fourth and final addition to the project. The latest building is adjacent to three others developed by Vandevco, LLC. Work on those projects started in 2001, and included apartments, condos and office.

The super-block on which the site is located, just east of Esther Short Park, is the former home of Lucky Lager Brewing, which long dominated the Vancouver skyline until it closed its doors in 1985. The new building was designed by Ankrom Moisan Architects, with 20% of the apartments targeted for workforce housing.

There is still time to join us this week for Connect Bay Area at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco. Get more information, and register to attend on this link.
