Three Renowned Retailers Headed for Kyle

Hays County shows no sign of slowing down. The 2020 census had the county as the fastest growing in the nation. That’s enough to get the attention of a number of national retailers. Hobby Lobby, Academy Sports and Rudy’s Country Store and Bar-B-Que are headed to Kyle, in Hays County. 

Hobby Lobby will be starting construction on a new $4 million store on December 1. The construction on the 56,057-square-foot “ground up” building is expected to be completed by June 1, 2023. This location is expected to create about 30 jobs.

Rudy’s Country Store and Bar-B-Que will cost about $1 million to build with work set to begin in December and finish in April 2023.

Katy-based Academy Sports and Outdoors Inc. is another retail powerhouse poised to open in Kyle.
Construction is slated to begin in January and finish in August 2023, The location will be more than 56,000 square feet with an estimated construction cost of $7.5 million.
