Hoar Construction Marks Milestone on Alexandria Conversion Project
Hoar Construction has finished the structural completion of CityHouse Old Town, a seven-story, office-to-luxury residential conversion development.
The property, owned by American Real Estate Partners (AREP), is located at 1101 King Street in historic Old Town Alexandria. Hoar is serving as the general contractor for the project, which broke ground in February 2024 and is set to deliver in Fall 2025.
CityHouse Old Town will offer approximately 200 homes, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments. “This project exemplifies AREP’s market-leading expertise in converting underutilized office buildings into vibrant, amenity-rich residential communities,” said Brian Katz, AREP Co-founder and President.
Cooper Carry is the building architect, hospitality design firm RD Jones + Associates is the interior designer, SKA Consulting Engineers is the engineering firm. Bozzuto Management will serve as the property manager.
“We worked hard to ensure the building’s retail tenants and surrounding neighborhood were not negatively impacted during the demolition and utilities phases,” said Justin Yarbrough, senior superintendent at Hoar.
