Hoag Opens Expanded Irvine Emergency Department
Hoag Hospital Irvine unveiled the Benjamin & Carmela Du Emergency Pavilion, a new, state-of-the-art Emergency Department (ED) that expands the facility to nearly five times its original size. The patient-centered design of the new ED offers the Irvine, CA community greater access to expert emergent care, an enhanced patient experience, and increased care for complex patient conditions.
The ED expanded by 13,500 square feet, from its original 3,600-square-foot ED space, which will undergo a renovation with project completion expected in early 2019. The new facility includes:
– 32 private treatment rooms
– two triage areas and four fast-track stations
– private family consultation rooms
– increased telemedicine through robotics for pediatrics, stroke and other complex patient conditions
– efficient processes to facilitate faster, more appropriate care, including the treatment of minor injuries in “fast track” bays
