HMF Americana Developing Charlotte Mixed-Use Community

HMF Americana acquired a development site from Harris Teeter near the border of Stallings and Weddington in Charlotte to build a mixed-use community.

The planned development will include 221 rental homes, dedicated 55+ residences, and approximately 10,000 square feet of multi-tenant commercial space. Site work is expected to begin in October, followed by vertical construction in the first quarter of 2027 and initial resident move-ins beginning in the third quarter of 2027.

The project combines elements of build-to-rent and multifamily living to create rental communities with the feel of traditional neighborhoods. HMF’s communities feature a mix of cottage-style residences and shared spaces designed around neighborhood connection while providing residents with the convenience of renting. A dedicated portion of the 221-home community will be designed for residents 55 and older.

The development will initially feature approximately 10,000 square feet of multi-tenant commercial space, with additional land available for future expansion.
