HKS Hires Technology and Design Veteran Mark Nakatani in Seattle
Global design firm HKS announced today it has hired Mark Nakatani as Principal and Global Practice Director, Mission Critical, as part of the company’s plan to strengthen its position in designing resilient, critical facilities.
“The global data center market is rapidly evolving as reliance on data continues to grow,” said Kirk Teske, HKS Partner and Global Sector Director, Place. “The need for safe, sustainable and nimble architectural solutions is at an all-time high, so we’re thrilled to welcome Mark’s deep expertise in serving our client portfolio around the globe.”
Nakatani brings more than 30 years of experience developing tech-centric design practices — as well as service-delivery teams — to his global leadership role at HKS. He will be responsible for the strategy of the Mission Critical practice and developing and maintaining systems and processes.
HKS also recently acquired Virginia-based AXO Architects, a design firm specializing in technically complex buildings that require high-level integration between architectural and engineering systems.
