Historic Warehouse Trades in Back of the Yards

Matanky Realty Group SVP Terri Cox closed on the sale of an 182,029-square-foot industrial building in the South Side’s Back of the Yards neighborhood. The property, located on 5.3 acres at 1443 W. 41st St., sold for an undisclosed price to an undisclosed buyer.

Although the seller, MKM Enterprises, had utilized the building as a cold and dry storage warehouse, the property had a much more historic past. From the 1800s through the 1900s, the building was owned and operated by Swift & Co.

“It’s not often that I get to represent such a historic building,” said Cox. “We do a significant amount of work in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, as well as in other underserved markets, but this was an extremely unique opportunity.”

Connect Industrial Midwest is coming to Rosemont, IL on March 4. For more information, or to register, click here.
