Historic San Antonio Building to Become 354-Unit Multifamily Community
The Friedrich Air Conditioning Company once had a thriving air conditioning manufacturing business but economic conditions forced it to shutter it doors in the 1990’s. It stood dormant for ten years and fell into disrepair, but the almost 100 years old building is getting a new life, thanks to Provident Realty.
The four-story building has been gutted, cleaned and repurposed. It will soon be home to hundreds of San Antonian’s. The Friedrich Lofts will have 354-units with apartments ranging in size from 625 square foot efficiencies to 1,000 square foot two-bedroom units.
The new owners are working with the San Antonio Housing Trust. Half of the units will be allocated for families making less than 60% of the area’s median income. Provident says it will include all the amenities of a “Class A urban-infill product”. Construction will begin in early 2023.
