Historic S & S Ranch Hits the Market
The 2,649 acre ranch is imbued with unique Texas history. Famous train robber and outlaw, Sam Bass, hid from the law in the area that is now called Sam Bass Hollow, which runs through the ranch. Some still think money might be hidden there.
The ranch, 75 miles away from Fort Worth in Palo Pinto County, has a lot of possibilities, “By my estimate, the ranch is capable of easily running 105 to 130 head of cattle without overgrazing. Beyond ranching, the habitat is exceptional for hunting deer, turkey and feral hog. The terrain has great elevation and offers several places for homesites. Few ranches in this area offer as much under one fence”, says Steve Sikes, whose family ranched the land for generations. The ranch is minutes away from The Cliffs on Possum Kingdom Lake.
The ranch has cattle pens, stock tanks, electricity to the property and functioning roadways. Sam Demel of the Demel Group and Steve Sikes of Texas Ranches Real Estate are the agents on the listing for Burt Ladner Real Estate.
