Historic Medical Building Sells to Hotel Developer
InnJoy Hospitality of Weslaco, TX, acquired San the landmark Nix Medical Center building in downtown San Antonio. InnJoy bought the property at 414 Navarro St. two months after the seller, Prospect Medical Holdings, shuttered what was once a 208-bed hospital.
Built in 1930 by developer Joseph Nix, the 24-story high-rise was considered the first “medical mall” in the United States. The building features a three-floor valet parking garage, as well as the former hospital space, medical offices and restaurant tenants.
At this time, InnJoy Hospitality hasn’t revealed its plans for the building, though a website indicated it is a “mixed-use” hotel, with a link that leads to the Marriott Bonvoy website.
