Historic McKinney Mill Converting to Hotel, Restaurant

The McKinney Flour Mill will transform with the addition of a boutique hotel and restaurant. The mill property currently functions as an event venue, and some small businesses operate in the building. It was opened in 1872 as a flour mill.

The upper floors of the building, which is at 407 E Lousiana St., will be converted into a 35-room boutique hotel.

Community Impact reports a new restaurant will be added on the ground floor of the building. The restaurant will have an elevated dining concept and serve American cuisine during lunch and dinner hours. The restaurant space will seat about 200 people and include a mezzanine level with a roughly 30-seat private dining area.

Work on the property’s transformation project is set to begin in early 2025. Construction will coincide with the opening of McKinney’s new city hall, which is nearby.
