Historic Hamilton-Holly House Now Home to Gamers, Web-Surfers
Internet cafés are still a thing — Wanyoo Café has leased space in the heart of Manhattan’s East Village neighborhood at 4 St. Mark’s Pl., a landmarked townhouse also known as the Hamilton-Holly House.
That’s because the townhouse was once home to Elizabeth “Eliza” Schuyler Hamilton. It’s where she lived for many years after the death of her husband, the Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. The historic home will provide 2,600 square feet of space on the ground floor, and 1,400 square feet in the basement for the high-tech café.
“Wanyoo Café is a Shanghai-based international cyber café chain that will offer an internet café and electronic sports stations for gamers,” said James Famularo of Eastern Consolidated, who represented the landlord. Tito Ghose of Halstead Commercial Property represented Wanyoo Café, which will provide its customers with a variety of gaming experiences.
