A Denver bathhouse, opened in 1927, will be the focal point of a new hotel to go up on the site.

New owners of the Lake Steam Baths, a bathhouse and spa facility located at 3540 W. Colfax Ave. have submitted a proposal to the city for a new five-story, 58-key hotel called The Lake Hotel. The bathhouse and spa will stay put, to be included in the amenity offerings of the new hotel.

Plans for the 4,660-square-foot Lake Steam bathhouse show a relaxation room, lockers, sauna, steam room, six massage rooms and a pool room with hot and cold pools. 

On the second level, the hotel would have a community room, fitness room and separate yoga room, in addition to an outdoor pool and deck.
