Hines Plans 135-Acre MXU Campus in North Texas

Houston-based Hines unveiled plans for The Strand, a 135-acre corporate campus and mixed-use development located at 121 and Alma in Allen, TX. Hines envisions transforming a site, just south of McKinney, into a vibrant and diverse corporate campus and mixed-use neighborhood.

Hines’ Drew Steffen says, “The City of Allen has seen rapid growth in the region over the past several decades, but the north part of the city lacks an identifiable socio-cultural hub.”

The initial 35-acre phase of The Strand will include roughly 200,000 square feet of office, 80,000 square feet of retail and urban residential options. Hines expects to break ground within 10 months, and the first office will deliver 12 to 14 months thereafter.

Phases Two and Three will culminate with the complete build-out of 1.5 million square feet of office, up to 300,000 square feet of retail, residential and a 10-acre greenbelt and trail system.
