Gary Evans has joined Hines as managing director, portfolio acquisitions, based in New York

Hines Hires Portfolio Acquisition Lead

Hines has hired Gary Evans as managing director – portfolio acquisitions, based in New York. Joining Hines with more than 12 years’ industry experience, Evans will serve as the lead investment management resource focused on portfolio deals across the nation, with a special emphasis on Hines’ new discretionary funds.  

In coordination with regional teams, Evans will be actively involved in all aspects of the investing process, including identifying, sourcing and executing complex real estate portfolio transactions for their discretionary funds and other capital sources. 

Prior to joining Hines, Evans served as executive director of real estate investing at Morgan Stanley. During his seven-year tenure in this role, he closed on acquisitions and developments representing $4 billion in total capitalization. Evans brings a proven track record of transactions across multiple markets and asset classes to the Hines team.

About Paul Bubny

Paul Bubny serves as Senior Content Director for Connect Commercial Real Estate, a role to which he brings 16-plus years’ experience covering the commercial real estate industry and 30-plus years in business-to-business journalism. In this capacity, he oversees daily operations while also reporting on both local/regional markets and national trends, covering individual transactions across all property types, as well as delving into broader subject matter. His tenure in B2B publishing stretches back into the print era, and he has served as Editor in Chief on four national trade publications. Since 1999, Paul has volunteered as the newsletter editor of passenger rail advocacy groups (one national, one local).
