Hines Development a First in Oakland
Hines broke ground on MacArthur Commons, a new multifamily development in Oakland, CA’s Temescal district, adjacent to the MacArthur BART station. The development represents Hines’ first for-rent residential project in the Oakland area.
The multifamily project will consist of three separate residential buildings, totaling 468,570 square feet, including roughly 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The 385 units will be comprised of seven loft units, 59 studios, 241 one-bedroom apartments and 78 two-bedroom apartments.
Designed by Ankrom Moisan Architects, the project will feature a fitness center, a clubroom, an outdoor pool and spa, a dog run, bike repair station and a pedestrian plaza, called “The Mews,” between the buildings.
Hines’ Paul Paradis expects occupancy of the first units at MacArthur Commons in October 2018, with final completion in March 2019.
