T3 Eastside is one of the first mass timber developments in Austin. The 102,000 square foot office project, built by Hines, is being touted as a more efficient and sustainable way to build. The Austin Business Journal reports mass timber is characterized by thick, compressed layers of wood being used for load-bearing building elements, in lieu of or in conjunction with more traditional materials such as steel or concrete.

T3 Eastside is nearing completion, about a year and a half after work began. It’s expected to be finished in October, on time. Once complete, T3 Eastside will offer 93,000 square feet of office space at 1211 E. Fourth St. It will also have 9,000 square feet of residential space spread across 15 corporate apartments that average about 600 square feet each.

T3 Eastside does not yet have any tenants. JLL is the leasing agency.
