Hillwood Planning a $1.5B MPC, Its Largest to Date
Dallas-based Hillwood Communities acquired 1,157 acres in Northlake, TX, on which it will build its largest master-planned community, Pecan Square. The $1.5-billion, mixed-use development will consist of more than 3,000 homes, including 609 lots in the first phase.
In keeping to the name, Hillwood will preserve two rows of 200 pecan trees currently on the site.
The acreage at Interstate 35W and Farm-to-Market Road 407 will also offer a mix of commercial, retail, educational and residential uses. As part of the transaction, Hillwood donated 15 acres to Northwest Independent School District for an on-site elementary school. An additional 150 acres was sold to the ISD, which will use it for a new middle school, high school and football stadium. Northlake, Tarrant County, is surrounded by Fort Worth, Denton and Argyle/Flower Mound, TX.
