Hillwood, NASCAR Start Their Engines on Daytona Beach Development
Hillwood and NASCAR have partnered to develop more than 200 acres of land adjacent to NASCAR home base Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL.
The Commerce 500 project, located at the intersection of I-95 and I-4, has the potential to build out to about two million square feet of industrial space at completion. Construction has already begun on the first phase, roughly 635,000 square feet of industrial space.
“Since March 2020, we have been working with Hillwood to evaluate the highest and best use for land not currently being utilized across all NASCAR-owned racetracks,” stated Lesa France Kennedy, executive vice chairperson of NASCAR. “With their help, we’ve been able to contribute to additional, long-term economic development across several communities in which we race, including in the state of Florida.”
The companies expect development ito add hundreds of quality jobs for area residents and to attract investment to Volusia County and Central Florida.
