Hillwood, Continental Will JV on Columbus-Area Distribution Center

Hillwood, a Perot company, has formed a joint venture with Continental Real Estate Companies on an 840,000-square-foot speculative distribution center in the Columbus, OH submarket of West Jefferson, approximately 20 miles west of the CBD.

The project, which is expected to deliver in early 2020, could be expanded by as much as 1.2 million square feet.

“Columbus has continually been a prime distribution hub serving the U.S. due in part to its premium transportation infrastructure, and West Jefferson offers the additional appeal of improved proximity to a principle labor pool,” said Hillwood’s Don Schoenheider.

The property will offer 36-foot clear heights, cross-dock configuration and ESFR fire protection system. There will be approximately 130 trailer parking spaces on the site that presents the capacity for an additional 230 spaces.
