Hilco Awards 3rd Annual Scholarships to Little Village Residents

Hilco Global awarded the 2021 Hilco Scholars Scholarships to Little Village residents Monica Jaimes and Raquel Avila at a ribbon-cutting for a Target logistics facility recently at Hilco’s Exchange 55 in Little Village. The scholarships are awarded annually to residents of this West Side neighborhood who are pursuing associate degrees at one of the seven City Colleges of Chicago.

Jeffrey Hecktman, founder and CEO of Hilco Global, said, “The scholarships are a critical part of our continued investment in the residents of Little Village as we continue to open doors of opportunity and develop future leaders of the city of Chicago.” The program is now in its third year.

Jaimes is attending Malcom X College to study business with the goal of eventually getting her bachelor’s in business from Northeastern University. Avila is studying respiratory therapy at Malcom X College.
