Highline Adds Conyers Retail Center to Metro Atlanta Portfolio
Highline Real Estate Capital scooped up Salem Gate Market, a 177,500-square-foot shopping center in Conyers anchored by Academy Sports + Outdoors, Floor & Decor and Northern Tool + Equipment.
Highline paid $25.4 million for the retail center. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports the company took out a $16.84 million loan with BankUnited to help fund the purchase. The purchase of Salem Gate was part of a 2023 fund that has facilitated $350 million in retail, office, multifamily and debt deals. The value-add fund targets underperforming assets.
Salem Gate was built in 2021 by Tri-Land Properties right in front of the Interstate 20 entrance ramp on Highway 138 SE.
Highline now owns five properties in metro Atlanta, comprising four shopping centers and one apartment building.
Brad Buchanan and Jim Hamilton of JLL’s Atlanta office represented the seller in the Salem Gate deal. Matt Karempelis, Rachel Smith, Kevin Hurley and Joe Morrison of CBRE’s Atlanta office represented Highline in the sale of the Conyers Commons outparcel.
