HHC Taps JLL to Market 230-Acre Monarch City
Howard Hughes Corp. has put up for sale the 230-acre, as-yet-undeveloped Monarch City in Allen, TX. JLL’s Michael Swaldi and Jonathan Carrier are handling marketing of the project, which is bounded by U.S. 75 and SH 121/Sam Rayburn Tollway. The JLL brokers would like to sell the property in one transaction.
Situated in Planned Development District 129, Monarch City is master-planned for up to approximately 10 million square feet of multifamily housing, office, retail and hospitality use. Monarch City will be anchored by a central park, with a network of pocket parks and trail system.
HHC indicated that it is selling the land, which it owned since 2010, as part of a $2 billion restructuring strategy. The company will also be moving its headquarters from Dallas to The Woodlands in Texas.
