Health Nonprofit Plants Flag in Garment District

Global Health Corps, a nonprofit co-founded by former First Daughter Barbara Bush, has signed on for office space at GFP Real Estate’s 318 W. 39th St. The group signed on for seven years in a 5,936-square-foot space.

GFP senior managing director Matthew Mandell acted on behalf of the ownership, which includes Jeffrey Gural, Eric Gural and Brian Steinwurtzel. Global Health Corps was represented by Brittany Silver and Jamie Jacobs at NKF.

“This latest lease with Global Health Corps demonstrates the appeal of 318 39th for prospective tenants,” Mandell said. “The demand for space in Manhattan’s Garment District remains strong, but availability is limited.”

Bush and five other twenty-somethings founded GHC, a leadership development organization focused on health equity, in 2009. To date, it has placed more than 700 young leaders in countries such as Burundi, Uganda and Rwanda, as well as the United States.
