Jacome proposing 23-story Brickell highrise

Health and Fitness Residential Project Proposed in Brickell

The location of a proposed 23-story Brickell residential tower was once the site of Babylon International condos, the first Miami project designed by the high-profile architectural firm, Arquitectonica. In pre-application filings with Miami-Dade County, the developer is listed as William A. Jacome. He acquired the property for $8.7 million earlier this year. The condos stood on a 0.44-acre site at 240 S.E. 14th Street. They have since been demolished.

Under the proposal, the project would emphasize racket sports and health and wellness. It would include 46,000 square feet of sports courts (nine padel, four pickleball and one tennis court), a restaurant, a “longevity hub”, three floors for a hotel and five floors of residential space.

MVRDV is the design architect, with ODP Architecture & Design acting as the architect of record. Developers file pre-applications to hear feedback from county staff before submitting official applications.
