HDRC Grants Conceptual Approval to Jefferson Bank Design

San Antonio’s Historic and Design Review Commission (HDRC) granted conceptual approval to plans for a 10-story commercial tower that will be the new headquarters for Jefferson Bank. Bank officials are partnering with developer Milam Real Estate Capital to develop the 180,000-square-foot building, with some of the space leased to other tenants. HKS Architects is the designer.

The headquarters will be situated at 1990 Broadway in San Antonio, across from another two-tower complex that is currently under construction. Jefferson Bank acquired the 1.7-acre lot, which originally held two “shotgun” houses, in June 2018. The houses were demolished in April.

The bank hasn’t indicated how many of its 400 employees will be relocated from its current headquarters on San Antonio’s northeast side, to the planned structure.
